Friday Faves: Artists
Happy Friday! Hope you all are feeling well at the end of this week, especially since we’re only a day away from March and a few weeks away from the official start of spring. I recently learned of an artist and am loving her work, so I thought I’d focus this Friday Faves on the artists I’m watching these days.
I have been writing a lot about art in the past year or so (see here) because we’re hoping to amp up our art game at the cozy cottage. It’s also a question I get a lot, where do you find art for the home. One place I find art I would like to one day purchase is Instagram! Another way is looking at the art that interior designers and stylists include in their projects and tag in their posts and follow artists from there. So here are some artists I’m following now.
Erica Michele is a North Carolina-based artist, born and raised in a small town in Upstate South Carolina. She picked up a paintbrush on an impulse in May of 2019 to cope with becoming visually impaired. She paints free-flowing, abstract and figurative forms.
Erin Robinson, who goes by Brooklyn Dolly, creates daydreamy, magical imaginative paintings that include watercolor, ink, markers, charcoal, stencil, collage as well as digital artistry.
Elizabeth Sutton is a visual artist and designer who has taken the nouveau arts scene by storm.
Angela Chrusciaki Blehm, an artist I’ve interviewed before and just adore. Read more from her here and here.
Deborah Roberts is an Austin, TX-based mixed media artist who uses painting and collage to take on social commentary, critiquing perceptions of ideal beauty.
Charlotte Keates draws on architectural design to create geometric landscapes with vivid imagery and color.
Sandrine St. Louis, who goes by Lady Brown Art, is a New York City-based illustrator whose work is clearly inspired by comic books and graphic novels.
Which artists are you following? Let me know, I’d love to follow more!
