Living Room Inspiration

It’s been almost four months of quarantine, with most people living and working and staying every day and night in the same spaces – which makes it so easy to get so sick and tired of seeing the same spaces over and over. I don’t know about you, but I can’t stop thinking about what I would like to do with our living rooms after staring at the same walls and objects nonstop. If you feel the same way, I’ve got some inspiration for you that would work whether you own or rent.

Sick of your sofa yet? One of ours is more than 10 years old and a color I hate, and the other is broken, so yeah, I’m sick of what we have. I really love how Casework interior design studio used a sofa with a strong yet soft silhouette in a soft color to be a create the layout of this living space.

Finally have time to put your interests and collections on display? Check out how Subfolk Collective artfully designed this record player and vinyl display case and the books and knickknacks in the living room showcased by interior design firm Reath Design below.

Hate an architectural design that you can’t afford or aren’t allowed to change? Paint it, like Kristen Grove of Simply Grove did to this fireplace wall in her living room.

A TV wall is a pretty ugly wall, in my opinion, and I’m grappling with the same blank TV wall situation as just about so many others. Creating beautiful displays on either side is one fantastic way to pull focus from that big black screen.

Want to have some fun with your living room while you’re stuck at home 24/7? I love what Stacey-Ann Blake of Design Addict Mom did. In addition to the fabulous way she mixes bold colors throughout her home, she added a disco ball just for kicks and the play of light everywhere is oh so fun! If a disco ball is too fun, then take a page out of interior designer Brigette Romanek’s book and add vibrant color to shake up a neutral living space, below.
