Friday Faves

Friday Faves: Paint, Fabric and Color

Happy Friday, folks! It’s going to be a whirlwind the next couple of weeks and I’m working on several projects that I hope to show you, as well as details about those projects that anyone can incorporate at home. But first, TGIF! It’s Fri-YAY! And here are this week’s Friday Faves, all about how certain design choices have blown me away this week and some good information to have.

I know I may sound like a broken record but paint really can change anything and, sometimes, almost everything. The designer/blogger behind Making It Lovely showed just how powerful paint – as well as design skills, ingenuity, and time – can be when she transformed her bathroom. I mean, look at that floor!!!

Sourcing fabric is super hard. I know because I make clothes. Often you have a specific idea of what you’re looking for and then don’t always find it. Side note: I often think of different ways to use my sketches and photographs to design fabric. Anyone know where I can get velvet made in my design? Anyway, Emily Henderson did a round up of online fabric sources that would be good for upholstery and if you read the comments, you’ll see additional sources.

This office kitchen design by Justina Blakeney of The Jungalow is spectacular. Not so much the design itself but her use of color in this combination is outstanding. The kitchen isn’t done yet and I bet it will be to-die-for when she adds her styling and plant touches but check out where it stands now.

Happy Friday and hope you enjoyed these #FridayFaves!
