Friday Faves

Friday Faves: Colorful Home Tours, New Cutting Boards, a Sink Debate and New Purchases to Help During Our Kitchen Reno

There have been some beautiful and colorful home tours of late that balance light, white and bright so well, I’m taking notes! Those home tours and more are in this month’s Friday Faves.

That yellow staircase above comes from a tour in domino of a home designed by Regan Baker, and all the spaces shown on domino are just so cool. The bathroom tile also is beautiful. I guess I never realized just how much I liked hot yellow but now I’m sensing a theme.

Another home featured in domino is giving me more inspiration for that one-day dream of renovating our garage. Check out how this couple DIY’d their way to a new living room from an old garage with a new light, bright and airy space that also features touches of vibrant color.

Small space with lots of color? Okay! This tiny beach home is a vintage-inspired gem, courtesy of Cubby.

This basement kitchen gets way more natural light than ours does, which is amazing for a basement and one reason why I like this room reveal. Another reason? They have the same oven range we ordered for our kitchen reno!

Maybe if we have any money after we do our kitchen, I may order one of these pretty cutting boards by COCOCOZY x etuHOME at Pottery Barn.

Are two sinks better than one in a primary bathroom? That’s what The Grit and Polish is asking and I’m definitely interested in this debate.

Before I go, I wanted to tell you how we’re preparing to move out of our kitchen. In addition to packing everything up, moving stuff around, and storing some unnecessary items in the garage, we’re also setting up a mini kitchen of sorts out back. We got this stainless steel outdoor sink from Lee Valley and this pantry from Wayfair to store the dishes that we need to use every day. Between these two items, the grill, and the fact that we can move our refrigerator (since that is staying), microwave and toaster to the living room, I hope this means that we can be covered as much as possible with food prep and eating during the kitchen renovation. We’re looking at probably two months without a kitchen, which is tough with a kid, but it’s been a long time coming and I’m so exciiiiiiitttteeeddd! To follow along in the kitchen renovation, work your way backwards starting here.

Have a good weekend!
