Friday Faves: Garlic and…HGTV?
It’s been a while since I did a #FridayFaves round-up. Admittedly, I got kinda lazy and busy once the holidays got closer and, well, you know what happens. But I figured I’d start the year off right and actually post what I said I was going to post. So happy Friday! This week, I’m spreading the love for garlic and HGTV.
About Garlic
I recently posted to Instagram a photo of how much garlic I use when a recipe calls for garlic. The amount I use is usually a ton more than the amount called for in the recipe. I know I’m not the only one. This thread this week on Reddit gave me the giggles.
Getting that Right Eclectic Mix
If you find that you are into numerous design styles but don’t know how or where to start in combining them, then this story on Apartment Therapy is for you. Some of these are silly (Japandi??), but I’m feeling the Goth + Bohemian Greenhouse. These pictures are decor inspiration for me for sure.
HGTV
I don’t think I have ever talked about my love for HGTV’s Fixer Upper on this blog, but I love that show. I love it for everything but the design, actually, simply because farmhouse and rustic are not for me. But every once in a while, Chip and Joanna will put together a house that blows me away and that’s what happened on this week’s episode. I love everything about the way they designed this house and all the decisions they made, especially how they were able to create a very modern house in a non-modern setting. It’s beautiful.
Speaking of HGTV, one thing that has irked me is how all of their programming has become about real estate and all design has been lumped into real estate programming. And since most of the real estate shows are about flipping, most of the design is terrible. So I was really happy to see that a new design show, Restored by the Fords, starring a brother-sister duo in Pittsburgh, PA, premiered this week. Interior designer Leanne Ford knocked it out of the park.
And that’s it for this week’s Friday Faves. Have a lovely weekend!
