Friday Faves

Friday Faves: Into the Details

Really the only thing on my mind all week has been Oprah’s Golden Globes speech and the entire Time’s Up movement but that has nothing to do with interior design and food so…have no fear as I still have plenty of relevant stories to share with you for this week. Today’s Friday Faves is all about the details.

I am all about adding details when possible, and I love this series that designer Emily Henderson is doing about adding details to basic spaces. She just did one this week about how to add enhance ceilings. The one thing I think she missed is tin ceilings, which I’d love to incorporate into our own home.

Entryways are on my mind. While nothing I’m planning for ours will be as dramatic as these featured on Lonny, some of these before and afters are Pin-worthy.

Mandi at Vintage Revivals is a crazy good DIYer and she just posted her tips on how to paint well. This is worth reading if you have any painting jobs coming up.

Lastly, I’ve become a fan of the Style Matters podcast and I’m definitely a fan of designer Justina Blakeney of The Jungalow fame. She shares one big detail on this week’s Style Matters podcast that is always worth remembering: style matters not to make your home beautiful to everyone else, style matters to make your home beautiful to you. LOVE THAT.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
