Friday Faves: Podcast Edition
Happy Friday, everyone! I have gotten really into listening to podcasts of late and am always on the lookout for something new to check out. The podcasts I like to listen to are interview format instead of serialized, and are about interior design, beauty, and comedy. If you’re looking for a podcast to listen to, check out my current favorites.
Beauty
Breaking Beauty – This podcast is great for all the ins and outs of beauty, the ingredients you need to know, and details on what to do and when. I liked their interview with Shani Darden.
The Allure Podcast – Michelle Lee, editor-in-chief of Allure magazine, interviews people about the changing faces of beauty. Check out her interviews with Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, and Drew Barrymore.
The Color Files – Julee Wilson, Global Beauty Director of Essence Magazine, explores the stories of people behind the business of black beauty. I loved her interview with Misty Copeland.
Business
How I Built This with Guy Raz – Guy Raz is a great interviewer and really gets to the heart of how people built their business from the ground up.
Second Life – A woman talking to women about their first and second lives as entrepreneurs and in their careers. I love just about every episode.
Without Fail – This is a podcast I just started listening to about failures and successes across industries.
Entertainment
Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard – He’s got some really great interviews with people you’ve been watching on screen for years. His assistant/co-host Monica is one of the best parts of this show.
Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend – He’s funny, his co-hosts/producers are funny, his guests are funny, it’s just funny.
The Watch – I love TV, and while I don’t agree with everything these two co-hosts say, I generally like the conversation around shows I watch and the people who create them.
Interior Design
A Well-Designed Business – Luann Nigara really breaks down how interior designers start their business and how they differentiate themselves.
Business of Home – I love the conversations Dennis Scully has with his guests about their businesses and the future of interior design.
If you try any of these, let me know what you think. And do you have any podcast recommendations for me? Please let me know!
