Friday Faves

Friday Faves: How Are You Doing?

It’s been a week since it seems the country went on high alert because of coronavirus, and social distancing and flattening the curve became all that we know, think and talk about now. So how are you doing? How has life for you changed? For us, we are lucky to be able to work from home and care for our son, and try to just make it all work. We have been doing it all week to varying degrees of success.

Working from Home

One thing I’m trying to do is keep up a workout routine, even if it’s grabbing only 15 minutes for a quick yoga or pilates session during a baby nap, or taking the dog for a run in between meetings. We’re also making sure to go out for walks with both dog and baby and hang out on the front porch and talk to neighbors and passers by while still practicing social distancing. How are you doing during all of this? And what are your tips for getting through life with coronavirus?

If you’re doing a lot of video calls these days, then you might find this story helpful.

Renovation Projects

I’ve highly enjoyed watching several renovation projects by favorite interior designers and DIYers come to life. Shavonda Gardner has been working on turning her backyard into a really nice place to hang out and I’m totally loving it. Here’s one of her projects. Check out her Instagram for more on her deck build and new greenhouse.

I am in love with everything Amber Lewis is doing in her own home, which is no surprise because I love just about all the work she does for her clients. Check out her new build for her own home here.

Chris Loves Julia is doing a whole-home renovation and I have loved all of it, but especially this dining room.

My New Favorite Color Palette

I’ve noticed that I’ve been saving a lot of images of a certain color palette, which means one thing: I’m getting really into a color palette of whites and natural browns (leather and wood) with a pop of a warm color, and also deep, saturated color. Here’s what I’m talking about.

I hope you’ve remained sane, safe and healthy this week while practicing social distancing. We made it to Friday!
